My name is Renée Warren, and I am a level 2 student doing World Geography 3202 at Herdman Collegiate in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I chose to research Egypt for my major assignment. I chose this region because it was a region that I was unfamiliar with, and I wanted to learn more about it.

     Throughout my research, I realized that the people of Egypt and much like those of Newfoundland and Canada. When i first used to think of Egypt, all i would think about would be the pyramids. Although they have their differences, they are alike in that they share pretty much the same type of family as we do, such that they have in-laws, uncles, aunts, grandparents, nephews, nieces and cousins and they enjoy spending their time doing the same activities, such as socializing, shopping, relaxing, poetry, coffeehouses and sports. They have quite a different history then Canada however. I also learned that their Education is a bit different then ours, such that it's only mandatory for the first 6 grades to attend school there.

     I now feel like I know much more about Egypt now, and I am pleased that I chose this region to research. I hope you learn a thing or two about Eygpt in the pages to come that you might not have known before. Enjoy!
